JOHN WACKMAN Licensed Massage Therapist
John’s training is rooted in massage techniques that address the specific pain or stress you are feeling with therapeutic understanding and depth.
He offers a special focus in two areas:
Massage for those in cancer treatment
If you are entering a course of radiation or chemotherapy treatments, massage can be a strong complement to your medical care. Research is documenting significant relief from the side-effects of treatment, in particular, the pain, nausea and anxiety you may be feeling. John will work with you to identify the days and times when safe and effective touch will be most helpful.
John is a “Preferred Provider” through the Society for Oncology Massage, whose vision is “to ease the journey through cancer.” Their website is a wonderful resource: http://www.S4OM.org
Massage for relief of tension headaches
Tension headaches were John’s primary health issue for many years, and he knows how painful and life-draining they can be. You will find relief by identifying your hyper-tense “culprit muscles” and learning some key ways to head off a headache before it takes hold.
What the research says
Research is a priority and driving force in the practice of massage therapy. Conclusions from recent clinical studies inform John’s practice.
